A small studio for the home
We started in a Seoul kitchen with a stack of hand-thrown plates and a stubborn belief that everyday objects should be beautiful, honest, and made to last.
Our story
Hearth & Home began at a market stall in Seongsu-dong in the spring of 2021. We had a handful of stoneware plates from a small studio in Icheon, a folding table, and no real plan beyond sharing objects we genuinely loved. By the end of that first weekend the table was empty, and we realised other people were looking for the same thing we were — pieces made slowly, by people who cared.
Everything we carry is chosen the same way today. We work directly with a small circle of makers — a ceramicist in Icheon, a linen weaver outside Seoul, a candle studio run by two sisters — and we visit their workshops before anything reaches the shelf. If we wouldn't use it in our own home for years, it doesn't make the cut.
We believe in buying less and choosing well. A single good plate you reach for every night is worth more than a cupboard full of things you never quite loved. That is the quiet idea behind the whole collection, and it's the invitation we extend to you: build a home slowly, one honest object at a time.
